Bernice B Allen

Monson-Bernice B. Allen, 96, passed away, January 26, 2018.  Bernice was born in Monson, April 26, 1921 to the late Egbert D. and Blanche M. (Nelson) Allen.  She was a graduate of Monson High School class of 1939. Bernice was a member of First Church of Monson, Congregational, and the Monson Senior Center. She was a Veteran of WWII and Korea serving in the US Navy.  She retired from Wm. E Wright Co in 1984 after 37 years.  At the time of her retirement she held the position of corporate secretary and benefits administrator.

Bernice was predeceased by her sisters, Viola Healey, Hazel Gustafson, and Ida Barco; brothers, Leonard Allen and Arthur Allen  and step-father Joseph Sunter. She is survived by nephews, Leonard Allen Sr. and his wife Geraldine of Springfield, and Arthur Allen of Monson; nieces, Kathryn Legrand of Plano TX and Marilyn Hill of Glade, FL and numerous great and great great nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 10-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA.  Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Spring at the family lot in Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
