Eugene "Sonny" B Plescia

Monson-Eugene "Sonny" Plescia, 81 , passed away April 13, 2018 surrounded by the love of family.  Eugene was born in Liberty , New York to the late Frank J. and Mary (Smiraglia) Plescia.  He has been a longtime resident of Monson.  He served in the US Marine Corps from 1956-1959 and then for a period of time was a Monson Police Officer. Sonny retired from Contech Engineered Solutions in Palmer.  He enjoyed playing cards, casino trips and most of all spending time with the grandchildren. 

Sonny was predeceased by his loving wife Carol A. (Vigneault) Plescia in 2016.  He leaves a daughter; Lori Barbeau and her husband Thomas, two sons; Eugene "Gino" Plescia and his partner Theresa Parsons, Anthony "Tony" Plescia and his wife Suzanne, grandchildren; Christopher Barbeau, Olivia Barbeau, Anthony Plescia and his partner Jessica Gousy, Nicholas Plescia, Zachary Plescia and his partner Alexa Kravarik, Gianna Plescia, Jessica Plescia and Hawkin Plescia and a sister Josephine Smuk, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 23rd from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 24th at 10am in St. Patrick's Church 22 Green St. Monson.  Burial will follow with Military Honors at Bethany Cemetery also in Monson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057.
