Palmer-William M. Chaiffre, 50, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born February 9, 1967 at Fort Dix , located in Lakehurst, NJ.  He was a graduate of Berkshire Community College with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and a graduate of the Police Academy.  Bill has been a dispatcher for the Town of Monson Police and Fire Department for 22 years. He enjoyed watching New England professional sports teams. In his younger years he played football and as an adult enjoyed playing cards with friends. Bill especially enjoyed spoiling his nieces and great niece and nephew.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Linda E. Chaiffre in 2011.  He leaves his stepfather Steve "Bobo" Mach of Palmer, his father Gerald A. Chaiffre of Palmer; his sister Melissa A. Hibbard and her husband Jack of Monson; brothers, Arthur, Hunter and Ryan Chaiffre all of Palmer; step brother Steve Mach and wife Kristin of CO, loving nieces, Lauren and Amber Messer of Monson and Jamie Messer and her fiancée David Farnum of Palmer; great nephew, Forrest Farnum ; great niece, Eleanor Farnum whom he affectionately referred to as “Little Man” and “Baby Sister” respectively. Cousins Karen Martello of Pittsfield and Mandi White of NC; longtime friends, Donald Emerson and Nicholas Gasperini, as well as several Aunts and Uncles.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 12 noon until 3pm with a prayer service at 3pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson.

IN LIEU of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Monson Police K-9 Unit, C/O Monson Savings Bank 146 Main St. Monson, MA 01057.
