Alice Kozikowski Obituary

Monson- Alice Kozikowski, 93, passed away peacefully at Orchard Valley Assisted Living in Wilbraham, MA on Thursday, April 11, 2024 with her family by her side. Alice was born in CT to the late Edmund and Alice Cantwell and later was raised in Monson, MA where she lived for the rest of her life. Alice is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, the late Edward Kozikowski. She graduated from Monson High School in 1948 and went on to work at Church Company, Monson High School as a secretary, the Law Offices of George Adams as an administrative assistant, and Springfield College as an admissions administrative assistant. Alice loved music and spent time singing for St. Patrick’s Church choir and The Dan Kane Singers—anyone who has heard her sing would agree that her voice was truly beautiful. She especially loved singing her favorite song “How Great Thou Art” which she continued to do all the way to the end. Alice was a devout Catholic and proud of her Irish ancestry noting her trip to Ireland as one of her favorite memories. Perhaps her most favorite travel memories, however, came from her trips with family to their home on Cape Cod and Walt Disney World. Alice was a caring and loving wife and mother, and cherished her times spent with family and with friends above all else. Alice is survived by her three children: her son, Andrew Kozikowski and his wife Carrie of Monson; her daughter, Pamela Norton and her husband Michael of Monson; and her son Michael Kozikowski and his wife Pamela of Williston, VT. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Caitlin Walker and her husband David of Monson; Brittany Pigeard and her husband Maxime of Maynard; and Christopher Kozikowski and Stephanie Kozikowski of Williston, VT. Alice is further survived by her three great-grandchildren, Michael, Ellie, and Elouan along with her nephew, Dr. Stanley North of Leesburg, FL; her goddaughter, Bridget Cote; her step-grandchildren, Lisa Corbett, Kim Grinnell, and Bruce Vreeland, and step-great-grandchildren, Carlie, Aiden, Quaid, and Ally.

The family would like to extend an extremely heartfelt “thank you” to Orchard Valley in Wilbraham, MA for providing such a nurturing, supportive, and compassionate living space for their beloved Alice. Every step of the way, the nurses, aides, and staff provided Alice and the family with the care and comfort needed in making the transition from her long-time home in Monson to what became her second home in Wilbraham. Alice made lots of new friends and shared in many laughs as she participated in activities including joining the chorus which fostered a renewed love of singing and earning the reputation as the one to beat at bowling. It is clear that Orchard Valley gave Alice the best final year and a half of her life, and for that, the family is forever grateful.
