Helen R. Bacon

1924-2008

Monson- Helen R. (LaBelle) Bacon, 84, of Main St. died suddenly, Saturday August 9, 2008, at Wing Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Palmer to the late Joseph and Helen (Bradway) LaBelle she was a life long resident of Monson. Helen was a graduate of Monson High School and Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and worked at the former Ludlow Hospital for 40 years. Helen was a member of the Monson United Methodist Church and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. In earlier years she loved to paint with water colors and oils. Her husband Raymond C. Bacon predeceased her in 1987. Helen leaves a daughter Sue Jameson of Monson; two sons Kevin Bacon of Monson and Ronald Bacon of Oakdale, Minnesota and her former son in-law Peter Mastalerz of Monson; seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and her pets Patches and Babe. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1pm in Lombard Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will begin at 11:30 the morning of the service.
