Eleanor P. (Bressette) Lynch

E. Longmeadow- Eleanor (Bressette) Lynch died Oct 16, 2017 at Wingate of Springfield. Eleanor was born March 5, 1919 to Jasper and Eva (Merritt) Bressette and raised in Palmer before moving to Monson in 1949, retiring to Sun City AZ in 1977, and returning to Bluebird Estates Retirement Community, E. Longmeadow MA in 2012. Eleanor was educated in Palmer schools, graduating in the class of 1937 and obtained her Cosmetology Degree in 1957 from Westfield State University.  Eleanor was married to John J. Lynch of Monson from Feb. 1, 1941 until his death in 2000. She owned her own beauty shop in Palmer until moving to Monson in 1949 where she opened and operated a shop in her home on Green Street.  She later opened Eleanor’s Bridal Shop also on Green Street until her retirement move to Arizona.  And upon graduating from Westfield State University, she was a cosmetology teacher at Pathfinder Regional High School in Palmer where she greatly enjoyed working with her young students.

Eleanor leaves her two children, Kathleen A (Lynch) Shea and her husband George of E. Longmeadow and a son John M. Lynch and his wife Joan of Simsbury Ct.  She leave five grandchildren, Stephen, Joanne, Michael, Kate, Maureen and Christine and twelve great grandchildren, Daniel, Keegan, Hannah, Claire, Andrew, Nolan, Hayley, Julia, Emma, Owen, Stephen and Theresa.  Besides her parents and her husband, Eleanor was predeceased by her granddaughter Sharon Lynch in 1973 and her brothers, Leo Bressette and Russell Bressette.

Eleanor was a communicant to St. Patrick’s Church in Monson and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Visiting hours will be held at the Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 9:45-10:45 with a mass to follow at 11:00 at St. Patricks Church Green St. Monson with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery Monson

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donors choice.
