Leo G Richer

Brimfield, MA- Leo G. Richer, 85, passed away at the home of his son Stephen Richer, February 16, 2018.  Leo was born in Woonsocket, RI, April 30, 1932 to the late Ovila H. and Cecile (Ledoux) Richer. Leo had two brothers Roland Richer and Ovila A. Richer. He is survived by Ovila A. Richer of North Eastham MA.

Leo was raised in Woonsocket, RI and attended Mount St. Charles Academy and graduated the tool design program at Brown and Sharp, Providence. He met his wife, now deceased, Mary C. (Gelinas) in Woonsocket, RI. They then lived in Enfield, CT for many years while they raised their family and spent summers on the Cape. After Leo retired from United Technologies, they moved to their home on the Cape. From the Cape they moved to Plymouth, MA where they resided for over fifteen years before moving to Brimfield in 2010.

Leo loved the process of designing and constructing homes for his family to live in and enjoy. He was passionate about working out in the yard bringing his landscaping plans to life.  Leo’s creativity was evident in the many projects he completed for family and friends.

Leo leaves his children, George M. Richer, Kenneth M. Richer and his wife Margaret, Stephen M. Richer and his wife Nicole, Patricia Richer, Susan Richer, and Shelia Perkins; five grandchildren, Sophia-Ray, Ella-Ray, Kenneth Jr, Kevin and Kurt Richer. 

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, MA.  Burial will follow at Brimfield Cemetery.  A visiting hour will be held at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA, Thursday morning February 22, 2018 beginning at 9am.
