I did not know your son and loved one but I understand the pain of addiction. I’m so very sorry for your loss to such a sad problem in this world! Our kids have enough to grow up with and this problem shouldn’t be one of them. I can only say that I know from experience how very much you loved him and were there for him! He will be remembered with love for all his beautiful qualities! He is at peace may you soon be as well...

My heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to Matt's family, and his loved ones, parents, Donna and Scott, brother Scott Jr. and his daughter, girlfriend, Bethany and their child, and to his extended family.
Matt,
You were, and will continue to be, a bright star and beacon, that will always shine in the hearts and memories of those that were lucky to have loved and known you. I will remember your open and contagious smile that, could make anyone laugh. You were friendly, funny, and always full of energy. You will be sadly missed, but never, never, forgotten. Please give your courage and strength to your family now, in their greatest time of grief.
My appreciation to the family for acknowledging Matt's struggle with addiction. Addiction is taking our children, our families, and our lives. Communities need to unite together to fight the war against substance abuse, and the stigma it carries. For those that think they may have a problem with substance abuse, reach out for help now, and for the families and caregivers, just continue to be there for them.
Matt,
I imagine you sitting on a rock, holding your favorite fishing rod in a stream, and looking to catch the biggest fish out there. You always got the best.
Mattie,
Rest in peace. You will be remembered.

So sorry, Donna and Scott. Wish I was there with some hugs. So sad for you both. I am sure he's already off fishing somewhere with Uncle Fig. That's one of the first's on my list when I get to heaven. Lots of love and God bless.

My love and heart are with you. Matthew had demons that would not let go. Donna, you gave him love, strength, understanding, and hope. Yet, sometimes all efforts are not enough; the disease is stronger than the love that tried to overcome it. Matthew is at peace, his demons not longer haunt him. He has found rest and may that rest come to his family.
