Monson- Pamela H. Yahn, 65, passed away July 16, 2018, surrounded by the love of family. Pam was born August 16, 1952 in Springfield to the late Robert B. and Hope W. (Mitchell) Yahn. She studied at Universidad Internacional in Mexico and was a 1973 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, the first class that admitted women. Pam was the Executive Chef in many exclusive restaurants, including Saratoga Golf and Polo Club, Mississippi Queen Delta Steamboat Company, and American Cruise Lines. Her greatest joy came from owning and operating La Différence Restaurant in Hampden, MA, and being the executive chef at Ottley's Plantation Inn in St. Kitts. Her artistic passion for creating innovative, high-quality cuisine won her a 5-star rating in Fielding's Guide to the Caribbean and one of only seven chef-hat insignias for “spectacular cuisine.”
Pam was predeceased by her parents Robert and Hope Yahn. She leaves her partner Richard J. Koslowski of Monson, her brother Robert B. Yahn Jr. and his wife Patricia of Natick, her nephew Robert B. Yahn III and his wife Laura of Southbridge, and many cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, August 2, from 4-7pm in Lombard Funeral Home at 3 Bridge St., Monson. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 3, at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
