Raymond A Blanchette

Monson-Raymond A. Blanchette, 65, passed away, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 surrounded by the love of family. Ray was born August 6, 1951 in Southbridge to the late Arthur and Loretta (Julien) Blanchette.  He was a 1977 Graduate of Western New England Law School.  In 1979 he opened his own law practice and in 1984 he formed the Law Practice of Blanchette & Karas. Ray was a communicant of St. Patick's Church in Monson.  He also served on many town committees and boards including, Selectman, Board of Health, Water and Sewer, Planning Board, School Committee and was the Town Prosecutor.  Ray loved to travel, enjoyed golf, horses, his dogs, New Hampshire and the Rolling Stones.

Ray leaves his wife Lucia A. (Coolong) Blanchette; his daughter, Marci Astukiewicz and her husband Joseph of Southbridge; his son, Corey S. Blanchette and his fiancee Tamika Milner of Palmer; his step-sons, James J. Ladue Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Wilbraham and Jeff D. Ladue of Monson; two sisters, Aline Racicot and her husband Edward and Yvette Desmarais all of Florida; three grandchildren Ashley Ladue, Derek Ladue and Gavin Ladue; many nieces, nephews and friends including Bonnie Karas and Linda Smith.  Ray was predeceased by his parents and a sister Theresa LePain.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St in Monson.  Funeral services will be Tuesday August 1, 2017 gathering at 9:15 at Lombard Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church.  Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, all in Monson.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Raymond Blanchette, PO Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284 or www.jimmyfund.org/gift.
