Robert S Young

Monson- Robert S. Young, 76, passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Robert was born in Athol, MA, January 7, 1943 to the late Jack W. and Mildred D. (Stafford) Young.  He has lived in Monson for many years.  Bob was co-owner and a sales representative for Weldtec Inc in Auburn, MA. In the year 2010 he retired.  Bob was a member of the First Church of Monson, Congregational where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, usher and a member of the Christian Education Committee.  He was a member of the American Welding Society.  Bob enjoyed golf and was a member of Quaboag Country Club in Monson.  For several years he and his wife spent the winter months in Florida.

Robert leaves his wife of 52 years, Candace J. (Crawford) Young; a son, Christian Young and his wife Jennifer of Monson; grandchildren, Ashley North, Jack Young and Alex Young; brother in-laws and sister in-laws; Dennis and Karen Dirico of Yarmouth Port, Joe and Carol Torchia of Orange, MA and a niece Kasey Torchia. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Heather (Young) North in 2012.

Services will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge st Monson.  Visiting hours will begin at 9:30am with a service at 11am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery also in Monson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Memory of Robert S. Young, may be made  to UMass Memorial Foundation in support of UMass Memorial Medical Center.
