William J Lusty, Sr

Monson- William J. Lusty Sr, 79, passed away surrounded by the love of family from complications of ALS, (Lou Gehrig's Disease) on Thursday October 24, 2019.  Bill was born May 16, 1940 to the late Robert J. Lusty and Marion L. (Tuggey) Lusty-Fontaine.  He retired from the former Springfield Molders which changed hands over the years becoming Thermotech and Montec, after 41 years.  Bill was a very strong, loving, family man with many interests. He was a fifth degree black belt and developed a self defense club. He was very active enjoying sports, taking care of his yard and garden.  He loved hunting and target shooting.  He could often be seen at the gym faithfully working out.  He was also a Hamm CB operator, enjoyed playing pitch, riding his Harley and traveling to the White Mountains.  He was active with all his grandchildren in their sports, including circle track racing at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Bill leaves his loving wife of 61 years, Judith A. (Barnes) Lusty and their children, William J. Lusty, Jr and his fiancee` Susanne M. Pluta of Palmer, Timothy J. Lusty and his wife Elaine of Monson, Cheryl A Stacy of Gilbertville, Lori L. Ketterman and her husband Randall of Monson; brothers Richard R. Lusty and his wife Sherry of Dayton, NV, David A. Fontaine and his wife Joann of Hesperia, CA; sisters Roberta J. Lusty Biron and her husband Archie of Palmer and Marilyn E. Lusty LeCours of Monson; fifteen grandchildren; Kristie, Randy, Joanne, Billy III, Ryan, Todd Jr, Mikey, Kyle, Brittany, Jennifer, Nicholas, Ashlee, Jamine, Colbey and Lauren; great grandchildren, Madison, Troy, Kevin, Zoey and Isabella James and his beloved cat Cry-baby Lusty. 

Bill was predeceased by a son Todd E. Lusty Sr.; a grandson Jim-Jim Stacy and a sister Ruth M. Robbins.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson. Visiting hours will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 form 4-7 in the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or to St Jude's Hospital for Children.
