Clara "Tess" T Dvorchak

Monson- Clara Theresa Dvorchak, 92, affectionally called Tessie or Tess was born October 29, 1933 to Robert K and Amy (Swetland) Miller at the farm house located at 244 Hovey Hill Rd Monson, MA. She attended Monson Main Street Elementary and Hillside Elementary School and finally Monson High School graduating Pro-merito in 1952. Tess continued her education entering Westfield State Teachers College 1952-1953, 1955-1957, graduating 1957 with a Bachelor of Science. She worked weekends at Joe’s Drive In as a counter girl. Tess entered the teaching profession in 1960 as a first-grade teacher for the town of Monson. She taught for 34 years at Hillside Elementary school, retiring in 1994. She continued contributing to the Monson school system after retirement as a Language Arts Coordinator on a voluntary basis.

Tess was a lifelong active communicant at St Patrick's Church.  She was a Lector, CCD Assistant, member of the choir, and part of the Martha and Mary Group.

Tess married Thomas William Dvorchak on June 14th, 1958 living in Belchertown MA, while, her brother Herbert Miller, built their home on T. Peck Rd in Monson. When it was completed in 1959, they moved into their home to raise their family. Later the family home was sold to Thomas W Dvorchak Jr. after the passing of Thomas Sr. Tessie then moved in with her daughter Amy Ouimet to assist with the care of her granddaughter Veronica Clara.

Tessie was predeceased by her husband Thomas W. Dvorchak Sr., Ma (Amy) Miller and Pa (Robert) Miller and her 18 brothers and sisters, Ruth Levesque, Marvin Miller, Frank Miller, George Miller, Herbert Miller, Theodore Miller, Evelyn Caulkins, Robert Miller, Virginia Miller, Ida Hermanson, Edith Hermanson, Raymond Miller, Jason Miller, Florence Munroe, Barbara Boudreau, Joan Pierce, Alice Elderkin and Dorothy Miller.

She leaves behind her adult children Richard A. Dvorchak and wife Laura, Karen McCormack and husband Michael, Thomas W. Dvorchak Jr., Kathleen Cross and husband Glen, Frederick Dvorchak and wife Lisa, and Amy Ouimet and husband Ronnie. Her beloved grandchildren Jennifer, Jayme, Kayla, Nicholas, Richard “Jake”, and Veronica and one great granddaughter, Danni and so many nieces and nephews to numerous to name.

Lombard Funeral Home of Monson has been entrusted with the funeral services of Tess. Public visiting hours will be held Friday, October 2, 2026 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. A Funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10am at St Patrick’s Church in Monson. The public is invited to gather directly at the Church. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery; all located in Monson.
