David J Meurisse

Monson-David Meurisse  passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 06, 2024.  Born in Monson on May 28, 1941, he was the son of James and Alice Meurisse of Monson.  He was predeceased by his loving life partner of 55 years, Salvatore Fidi, and  brothers Michael, Robert and Walter.  He is survived by his brother James of Bennington, New Hampshire and sister, Joan Smola of Hadley, MA.  He also leaves behind 4 nieces and 5 nephews

David was interested in the arts and attended Pasadena Playhouse. He moved to New York City where he acted in off Broadway plays for a few years. His love for travel led him to take a job with Eastern Airlines where he and Sal met. Later, he and Sal owned Dukes County Travel on Martha’s Vineyard from 1989 - to 2001. David and Sal eventually retired to the Meurisse family farm in Monson.
