Monson-Dennis P. Taylor, 68, of Mill St. died Saturday, November 5, 2011, at U-Mass Medical Center in Worcester. Dennis waged a courageous battle against a rare blood disease that finally took his life. He was born in Lackawanna, NY, April 26, 1943 to the late William and Mildred (Curtis)Taylor and has been a longtime resident of Monson. Dennis retired from the maintenance department of Monson Development Center in 1996. He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing, hiking and drawing. Dennis always had a friendly smile and a warm handshake for all of those he came in contact with.
Dennis leaves his wife of 45 years Susan L. (Siegel) Taylor; their daughters Heather Severin and her husband James of Monson, Melissa Fitzgerald and her husband John of Hampden; a brother William Taylor and his wife Eileen of West Springfield; a sister, Nancy Price and her husband Ted of Guilford, NH; a cousin, Allen Curtis and his wife Rate of Monson; his Aunt Shirley Curtis of Springfield and four grandchildren that gave him much joy, Brenna and Jessica Severin, Ryan and Megan Fitzgerald.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Lombard Funeral Home of Monson has been entrusted with the care of Dennis and the funeral arrangements. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wing Memorial Hospital hematology/oncology department who always treated Dennis with much care and compassion.
