Donald Merrick Banford

Donald Merrick Banford, born on April 13, 1948, in Palmer, Massachusetts, passed away on May 12, 2025. He lived an accomplished life as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. Donald worked tirelessly as a Union Carpenter for Local 108, carving out a reputation for his craftsmanship and dedication to his trade.

Throughout his life, Donald found joy in woodworking, a passion that saw him create beautiful furniture pieces and even build a home for his beloved wife, Anna. His talents extended beyond his professional endeavors, as he cherished moments spent with his family, whether going for rides with Anna, camping under the stars, or enjoying sun-soaked days at the beach.

 Donald is survived by his loving wife, Anna Banford; his sons, Steven Banford and partner Susan, and Ryan Banford; his daughters, Kristin Sutkaitis and husband Joseph, and Michelle Banford and partner KC Speight. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Stanley Banford, and his cherished grandchildren Zachary, Dylan, Cameron, Aiden, Madison, Anneliese, Robert "Bubba," Jayden, and Brayden, great granddaughter Lilymae, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. His close friends, Candy and Peter, will also hold his memory dear. Donald is preceded in death by his brother, George Banford as well as his mother Eleanor (Wager) Banford, and father Richard Banford, Jr. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched. He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Visitation will be held on May 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a time of remembrance at 11:30am. Both services will take place at Lombard Funeral Home, located at 3 Bridge Street, Monson, MA 01057.Donald Banford's spirit will live on in the memories shared by his family and friends, and in every piece he crafted- each one a timeless reflection of his hands, heart, and artistry.

 In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Donald's honor to St. Jude's.
