Biography
Geneva "Jean" M. (Malo) Portier, 91, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 surrounded by the love of family. Born in Leominster, MA December 6, 1919 to the late Louis and Bertha (Brunelle) Malo, she was raised in Monson and has lived in Brimfield for more than 53 years, most recently moving to Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton. Jean was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield. Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family.
Jean was pre-deceased by her husband Ralph E. Portier in 2003. She leaves three sons; Ronald Portier and his wife Phyllis of Stafford, CT, Wayne Portier and his wife Kathleen of E. Longmeadow, Mark Portier and his wife Jane of North Carolina; three daughters Susan Long and her husband Thomas of Monson, Sandra Galanakis of New York, NY and Nancy Cournynand her husband John of Worcester; a brother Joseph Henry Malo of Stafford, CT; five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her brothers; Rene, Norman, Robert, and Albert Malo and sisters; Jeannette Malo, Anita Shunaman and Lorraine Tucker.
