Hilton "Sonny" Davis

Listen to Obituary

Monson - Sonny Davis, 94, joined his wife Edith, son Rick and daughter Catherine on June 23rd for his next adventure.

Long before age earned him the title, he was simply known as “The Old Man”, a term of affection and respect from family and friends alike.

Sonny was a man who believed in hard work above all else. He wasn’t afraid of longs days, dirty hands or difficult jobs. He approached life with determination and grit, expecting the same dedication from those around him. His work ethic was unwavering, and it became one of the greatest legacies he leaves behind.

Known for his fiery temper he could be stubborn, outspoken and quick to let you know exactly what he thought. Yet those who looked beyond that tough exterior discovered a man with a loyal heart, a sharp sense of humor and a willingness to help when it truly mattered. His love was often shown through deeds rather than words.

He never met a dog he didn’t love and who didn’t love him back. One of Sonny’s greatest joys was his dogs. They were a constant source of happiness and companionship. He is now reunited with his faithful friends who never left his heart.

He found so much pleasure in spending time exchanging endless stories with his many lifelong friends and fishing buddies.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Tom and Sandy Smith, his guardian angels who always showed up when he needed them. You meant the world to him.

He is survived by his children: Rogerlene Davis, Alma Coderre, William and his partner Grace; son-in-law Buster Robbins; grandchildren: Justin Robbins, Tracey Benard, Rachel and Amber Coderre, Troy and Dexter Davis and their families.
