Palmer-James "Jim", "Rick" his closest friends called him "Diamond Jim"  Brady, a longtime member of the community, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in East Longmeadow, at the age of 79. He was born on November 21, 1946, in El Centro, California.

Rick served in the Army during the Vietnam War with honor. After his military service, he worked for many years in security at local manufacturing companies, including Tambrans and Wright's.

He loved the outdoors, finding joy in fishing for trout and bass in nearby streams and ponds. He enjoyed hunting and cherished walks in the first snowfall each year. A fan of NASCAR, he particularly admired Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., and often built and raced cars with friends. He would often be open to challenging game of checkers.

He will be remembered for his friendly nature and passion for nature. Rick made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by many friends, including Mary Kusyk, Matthew Fell, Barry Goodreau, and Heather Fell, along with her children Jonathan, Ryan, and Haley Jarnagan, as well as Eileen Crowther and her children Brett and Sarah. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Muriel (Smith) Brady.

A committal service with Military Honors will take place Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 3pm. Please meet directly at the Cemetery.
