Biography
John P. Harris, 39 Gill Court, died March 4, 2011 one week before his 86th birthday.
John leaves his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Ann (Murphy) of Whitinsville, two sons Caleb Peter of Worcester and Paul Prescott of Whitinsville; three daughters, Mary Adelaide of Natick, Martha Ann McLaughlin and Susan Tara Calabro of Whitinsville; and ten grandchildren.
He was graduated from Wakefield High School, received a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University; and a M. Ed and CAGS from Boston University. He worked 39 years in the Northbridge Public Schools as a teacher, guidance director and special education administrator. He was a Eucharistic minister at St. Patrick Church, Whitinsville, MA.
He was a World War II veteran earning two campaign stars and a bronze star in the 14th A.D. He later served in the army reserve as a 94th Infantry Division officer.
