Biography

Rita M. Davis, 89, passed away on Sunday September 1, 2013 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was born in Norwich, Connecticut to the late Wilfred and Mary Louise Beauchemin. She lived in Monson, Massachusetts for 83 years and in Fort Myers, Florida for the last three. Rita attended school in Monson and then trade school for Cosmetology. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in Monson for 60 years. When retired, Rita worked for American Saw in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts for 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Parish in Monson and also Blessed Pope John XXIII in Fort Myers. Rita was the Sacristan of St. Patrick's Parish for 25 years and loved taking care of the church and gardens. She was an Extraordinary Minister and loved ministering to the sick and the elderly.

Rita was predeceased by her husband Guy in 2007 and her son Francis in 1994. Rita leaves two sons, Daniel Davis and his wife Carol of Fort Myers, Florida, Thomas Davis and his wife Peggy of Springfield, Massachusetts; two daughters Mary Lou Callahan and her husband James of Monson Massachusetts, Claudia O'Connor and her husband Michael of Yarmouthport, Massachusetts. Rita leaves ten grandchildren, Keith, Melissa, Michele, Christy, Joshua, Kristen, Kevin, Meaghan, Kelly, and Jonathan and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Rita also leaves two sisters, Alice Caron of Norwich, Connecticut and Theresa Pikul of Palmer, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Patrick's Restoration Fund, PO Box 473 Monson, Massachusetts or The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, 12468 Brantley Commons Court, Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
