Monson-Robert T. Margerison, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on June 30, 2026, in Agawam, after a period of declining health. Born on April 1, 1940, in Lawrence, MA, Bob lived a life defined by service, commitment to community, and devotion to his family.

Bob was a graduate of high school, setting the stage for a lifetime of achievement and contributions. He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, a chapter in his life for which he remained immensely proud.

Following his military service, Bob embarked on a long career in law enforcement as a Police Officer for the Monson Police Department. His years in uniform were characterized by integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of his community. After leaving the Monson Police Department, Bob found joy in working at Forest Park, where he especially loved driving the train, bringing smiles to countless families and children.

Bob believed in giving back and was involved in civic life. For many years, he dedicated his time to the Monson Finance Committee and was active with the Republican Town Committee, demonstrating unwavering commitment to local government and community betterment.

Known for his helpful nature, Bob was someone friends and neighbors could always count on. His generosity, warmth, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is remembered by his wife, Carol (Brunelle) Margerison, and their children: son Brian Margerison and his wife Lorraine, daughter Leigh Brower and her husband Mark, and daughter Lynda Margerison Feely and her husband Jonathan. Bob’s legacy shines through his grandchildren, who brought him great pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Walsh and Diane Phillips, who shared many memories and years of camaraderie with him.

Bob now joins his parents, Thomas Margerison and Eva (Broome) Margerison, and brothers Richard and James Margerison who predeceased him.

Robert T. Margerison’s life was one of service, kindness, and unwavering integrity. His memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.

All services are private and have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Robert T. Margerison to the TJ O Foundation for Animals 66 Industry Ave, Suite 3 Springfield, MA 01104
