Ronald McClain

Ronald Carl McClain, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in East Longmeadow, MA. Ron was born in Hartford, CT on March 12, 1947, to the late Carl and Eleanor (Nanni) McClain. 

Ron was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart; he was also known as “Doc” McClain by his buddies in his Platoon. Upon his return from Vietnam, he enrolled in the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing program and became a registered nurse. Ron worked in private practices throughout his career. Ron was a member of the Wales VFW. He enjoyed traveling across the United States with his wife, Toxey, in their RV and listening to Classic Rock or the Blues. 

Ron was predeceased by his wife, Toxey, in 2020 and a daughter Jessica McClain. He leaves his children, Taunya Foley and her husband Jeff of East Hartford, CT; Ronald C. McClain II and his wife Elaine Sullo of Fort Myers, FL; granddaughters Ashley Foley and her partner Rolando Vazquez and Kelsie Gonzales and her husband Mike, both of Manchester, CT; great-granddaughter, Sofia; great-grandsons, Greyson & Dawson; a sister, Gail Sloan and her husband David of Manchester, CT; nephews, Toby Sloan & George DeVita in CT. Ron was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Carol DeVita. 

Services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson, MA. Visitation will be held on October 15, 2026, from 10-11 am at the funeral home. A Service will begin at 11 am at the funeral home concluded by Military Honors.
