Monson-Ronald J Padykula, born on January 8, 1947, in Ware, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away at home on April 20, 2026 at the age of 79. He was a dedicated family man, a proud veteran, and a committed public servant.

Ron dedicated over 27 years of his life to the State of Connecticut Department of Correction, where he earned recognition for his efforts, including receiving the Preservation of Life Award. His career was marked by a deep commitment to helping others. Before beginning this path, he served honorably in the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Independence Aircraft Carrier, a chapter of his life he held with great pride.

An educated man, Ron was a graduate of Cathedral High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts. Throughout his life, he combined his education and experience to make a positive impact on those around him.

Ron was a sports enthusiast who loved cheering for the Red Sox and the Patriots. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He savored these moments and cherished the laughter and love they brought.

He is survived by his sons Sean Padykula and his wife Samantha of Wilbraham, and Brian Padykula of Monson. Ronald’s grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, Patience, and William, will also carry forward his memory and love. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lillian (Jewett) Padykula; his brother, Richard Padykula; and his sisters, Susan Derocher and Rena Pelis.

A Celebration of Life will be held when the weather becomes warmer.
