Monson/Ware- Warren A. Bren, 73, passed away on August 20, 2024. Warren was born in Palmer on October 22, 1950 to the late Gordon A. and Jean E. (Goodrich) Bren. He was the proud owner and operator of Performance Auto located in both Monson and Palmer for many years.
Warren was many amazing things, but at his forefront was surely his passion for race cars and his family.
His love for racing took him to various speedways with Stafford Motor Speedway and Riverside Park Speedway holding a special place in his heart. Warren excelled in both modified and pro stock race cars, and his enthusiasm for NASCAR, especially for drivers Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon was unmatched.
Beyond the race track, Warren enjoyed camping with his family, skiing, and country music. He was known for his lively karaoke performances. Warren could be seen oftentimes cheering on his children as they pursued their passions. His infectious laugh and radiant smile lit up every room that he entered.
Warren leaves behind his beloved daughter, Somer Bren of Ware, and his sons, Stuart (Bren) Hazen and Eric (Bren) Hazen of Sturbridge, Craig Bren of Bimfield, as well as Justin Bren and Gordon Bren of Palmer. He also leaves behind many grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Warren was preceded by his parents as well as his brothers, Gordon and David.
Visiting hours will be held at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St., Monson, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 5-8pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Research.
