David R Sutcliffe

Hampden-David R. Sutcliffe, 80, passed away at home Sunday, January 2, 2022.  Dave was born in Monson and was a graduate of Springfield Trade School.  He served in the US Air Force, where he built lifelong friendships with the “Elite 5”.  Dave was a truck driver by trade and worked for Blanchard Septic, Turnberg Construction and Hampden Nurseries.  For over 30 years he was a volunteer at the Hampden Fire Department.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and he enjoyed cruising in his pickup to visit friends, family, and the occasional scratch ticket.

Dave leaves his loving wife Betty J. (Edwards) Sutcliffe; sister, Thelma Learned; a daughter, Amy Bliss and her husband Walter; a son, Scott Sutcliffe; four grandchildren, Sarah, Angela, Elizabeth, and Samantha, a great grandson and great granddaughter and lifelong friend Larry Hatch. David was predeceased by a son, Tod Sutcliffe.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Dave will be held Sunday, January 9th 2022 starting at 3pm at La Cucina in Hampden.
