Donald Mann Obituary


Palmer- Donald J. Mann, 85, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020.  Donald was born in Monson, July 2, 1935 to the late Eugene W. and Eva (Gaboury) Mann.  He served in the United States Army from 1952-1955 during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class and returned to Palmer to make his home.  Donald worked at Pierson Industries in Palmer for over 30 years retiring in 1996. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Palmer, the American Legion in Stafford, Ct and a former union steward and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Donald enjoyed reading, walking and was an avid New England sports fan.  He could also be found cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Notre Dame "Fighting Irish".  Don could never turn down a good game of pitch or a competitive game of cribbage.

Donald was predeceased by his wife Gloria M. (Houle) Mann.  He leaves his son, Donald J. Mann, Jr of Monson; a daughter, Donna L. Blatchley and her husband Matthew of Monson; grandchildren, Erin Arbour and her husband Michael, Dylan Mann and his wife Bethany, Elyzza Blatchley, Drew Mann, Derek Mann and Desiree Mann; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter in-law, Tina Mann and his brothers Francis Mann and George Mann and sisters Ruth Palacko and Helen Corey.

The family would like to thank Palmer Healthcare for the care and compassion that was given to Donald during this difficult time.
