Monson-Erich Porth, 89, passed away in his home Sunday, February 23, 2020. Erich was born in Warnitz, Germany, June 28, 1930 to the late Karl and Sophia (Schwarzwalder) Porth. He served in the German Navy and then was a carpenter for many years before moving to the United States. Erich, along with his late wife Rosemarie, owned and operated a floral shop in Springfield for many years. He constructed their home in Monson, enjoyed gardening, splitting wood and was also a bee keeper.

Mr. Porth was predeceased by his wife, Rosemarie G. (Thomas) Porth in December 2019. He is survived by his two sons; Bodo Porth of Monson and Uwe Porth of Florida; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was also predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.

All services are private and have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson.
