Wales, MA/Bangor, ME - Helen L. Matheson, 98, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 after a period of declining health. Helen was born May 22, 1922 in Hampden, Maine to the late Frank and Bertha Southard. She was a resident of Maine for most of her life before moving to Wales to live with her daughter 6 years ago. Helen worked in kitchen services at Eastern Maine Medical in Bangor, ME before retiring in 1986. She was predeceased by her husbands Harry “Farmer” Nevins and Howard Matheson, her siblings and her grandson Shaun Nevins in 2016.
She leaves her children John Nevins and his wife Patsy of Bangor, ME and Carolyn Nevins of Wales, MA. Also, 3 grandchildren Scott Moran (Ellen) of Blackstone, MA, Heidi Blanchard (Michael) of Sturbridge, MA and Eric Nevins (Elana) of Freeport, ME. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Tiffany Moran, Sasha Nevins, Karmyn Nevins and Chase Blanchard. She leaves her niece, Lorna Snyder and close friend Eva Snyder.
