Richard J Silva

Wales- Richard J. Silva, 77, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020.  Richard was born in Boston, MA, April 6, 1942.  He grew up in the Boston area of Massachusetts before moving to Wales, MA in 1979.  He was self employed throughout his career running towing companies and managing school transportation companies. He was also a police officer for the town of Wales from 1979 until the late 1980's.   In his retirement years he managed the Wales transfer station.  He loved muscle cars and classic cars.  He also enjoyed being outdoors target shooting and sharing his sense of humor.  Richard was also a past president of the Nemameseck Sportsmen's Club in Palmer.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Gloria J. (Irwin) Silva in 2005. He leaves their children; Richard J. Silva Jr of St. Petersburg, FL, Allen R. Silva and his wife Michele of Palmer and Sandra L. Silva and her partner Kimberly Bergman of Ohio; brothers James Silva and his wife Dale of New Hampshire, Edward Silva and Gary Silva and his wife Laurie of Lexington, MA and grandchildren, Nicholas Silva, Nikolas Czajka and Alina Czajka.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 10-12 Noon and conclude with a funeral home service at 12 Noon.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wales Senior Center 85 Main St. Wales, MA 01081.
