Robert A Auclair

Monson-- Robert A. Auclair, 93, a longtime resident of Monson, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 surrounded by love of family at Orchard Valley in Wilbraham after a long illness.  He was born in Springfield, MA on March 25, 1927 to the late Albert and Aldea (Bilodeau) Auclair. Bob was a WW II Navy Veteran.  He served in the US Pacific Fleet aboard the destroyer USS Floyd B. Parks. Bob worked in the construction industry as a lather retiring after many years in 1992.  He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Parish in Monson and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and formerly the Grand Knight.  Bob served the community for many years as a member and chairman of the Monson Planning Board. 

Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of almost 66 years, Kathryn M. (Larrow) Auclair.  In addition to his wife, he leaves his children Robert F. Auclair, Pauline Wright and her husband Kevin all of Monson, Joseph Auclair and his wife Jody of Marlborough, and Elizabeth Parker and her husband Scott of Sturbridge; his grandchildren Erica Nissenbaum, Kristen Wright-Ng, Kathryn Kosiba, Devin, Ryan and Amy Auclair, Erin and Ethan Parker; his great-grandchildren, Moira, Collin, Elijah, Joshua, Liliana and Timothy; and his two nephews and their families.  Bob was predeceased by his sister Theresa Leger and her husband Daniel.

His family is grateful to everyone at Orchard Valley in Wilbraham for the care, compassion and personal attention they gave him during the past few years.

Lombard Funeral Home of Monson has been entrusted with the arrangements. Private services are being held. A public Funeral Mass with Military Honors will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to St. Patrick's Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson, MA 01057.
