Robert F Finnegan

Monson-Robert F. Finnegan, 74 of Monson, peacefully passed away August 25, 2023 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Bob was born  May 7, 1949 in Waltham, MA to the late Thomas F. and Helen (Felker) Finnegan.  He was a graduate of Arlington Catholic High School and Boston State College.  He was a social studies teacher in Monson for 35 years.  He taught at Monson High School  and retired from Granite Valley Middle School in 2006.  Bob was also a class advisor and yearbook advisor.  He was President of the Monson Teacher's Association and a member of the negotiating committee.  Bob was a member of the Monson Town Finance Committee for 12 years, serving as chairman for 2 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.  He loved history, spring training, cruises and peanut butter.   Bob had a quick wit and enjoyed keeping up with current events.

Robert leaves his devoted wife of 47 years, Deborah (Clarchick) Finnegan; a sister, Mary Fuller and her husband Kevin; family members, Linda, Jim, Shannon and Anna Huluch, many Finnegan cousins and his faithful canine friend Molly. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Finnegan.

Services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home.  Friends are asked to gather directly at St. Patrick's Church 22 Green St in Monson, Thursday August 31, 2023 for Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am.  Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Monson.
