Robert A Presho

Monson- Robert A. Presho, 83, died Sunday January 24, 2021 surrounded by love at home.  Bob was born January 2, 1938 in Arlington, MA to the late Ethel M. (Burdick) Somers and the late Dwight Presho.  He was a high school graduate and an Air Force veteran honorably serving the country from 1956-1962.  Bob was a shift supervisor at  H.P. Hood in Agawam and retired after 38 years. After retiring from H.P. Hood he didn't slow down and he continued to serve the community of Monson by delivering for the Meals on Wheels program with the Monson Senior Center.  He then began to work for Monson Savings Bank as a courier, as he simply stated, his best job ever.  Bob loved the "Big E" and often would work for Rondeau Ice Cream delivering  to the fair throughout its run in September.  Robert was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson and served on the Parish Council.  He was a member of the Friends of the Monson Senior Center and a past President of the Monson Rotary Club.  He enjoyed golfing, league bowling, watching football, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Maureen E. (Shields) Presho and their children, Michele Presho of Monson and her partner Christopher, Bridget Moriarty and her husband Jeremy of Monson, Robert Presho Jr and his wife Sarah of Palmer; seven grandchildren, who he adored;  Natalya, Jacob, Shamus, Riley, Ruby, Ryder and Ryan; two sisters, Marie Magrath and Kathy Brown; sister in-law, Patricia Shields; brother in-law, John Shields.  Bob was predeceased by his infant brother, Paul Presho and brothers, Ike Presho and Charles Presho; many nieces and nephews and his sweet puppy Zelda.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joanna Preibisz and her staff; Lauren Rose, Dr. Michael Germaine at Fresenius Kidney Care , Jennifer V andMary at the Wing ER and the staff at Baystate VNA and Baystate Hospice.  Your compassion and kindness is something that we cannot repay.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 beginning at 9am at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church.  Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Monson.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5-7pm.  Visitation at the funeral home will be held with limited occupancy in the building at onetime, face coverings are asked to be worn and social distancing is encouraged.
