Springfield-Roland H. Turgeon, Jr, 92, passed away surrounded by love of family, March 12, 2021. Roland was born in Holyoke July 15, 1928 to the late Roland H. and Fredericka (Gryek) Turgeon. He was educated in local schools and was a graduate of American International College. Roland served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Hasbro/Milton Bradley after many years. Roland enjoyed spending many summers in Harwichport, Cape Cod and traveling the country with the love of his life, his wife Barbara. One of his major pastimes was going to the casino. He also enjoyed Broadway shows and in the early days playing cards with his friends and neighbors, however his greatest joy came from spending time with family.
Roland was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years Barbara J. (Moriarty) Turgeon and a son Stephen Turgeon. He leaves two sons; Michael Turgeon and his partner Karen King of Monson, Daniel Turgeon and his wife Betsy of East Longmeadow; six grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie, Bryan, Matthew, Katherine, Brenna; and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
