Gordon A Moore

February 26, 1934 ~ March 6, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Brimfield - Gordon A. Moore, 83, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at LifeCare Center of Wilbraham.  Gordie was born February 26, 1934 in Monson, to the late Wolcott R. and Lauretta L. (Bradley) Moore.  He was a graduate of Monson High School and served in the US Army  from 1955-1957. He has lived in Brimfield for over 59years. Gordie retired from Heath Bath Corp. in Springfield after 32 years of service. He was an active member of the Monson Glendale United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee.  Gordie was also a member of the Day Spring Lodge of Masons in Monson.  He was one of the original founding members of Monson Summerfest along with the late Charles Madison. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family.

Gordie leaves his wife of 59 years, Shirley S. (Siegel) Moore; two sons, Gary R. Moore and his wife Mary of Palmer, Richard J. Moore and his wife Jane of Brimfield; a sister, Darline Miceli and her husband Lawrence of Palmer; six grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Erin, Lauren, Ross and Tyler; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Ava, Norah, Brianna and Aria and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his brother Charles Moore in 1991 and sister Glenys Scavatto in 2011.


A memorial service will be held, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 1pm in the Monson Glendale United Methodist Church, Main St. Monson.  A private burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to LifeCare Center of Wilbraham for the compassionate care that has been given to Gordie.  Funeral services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home in Monson. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, Monson Glendale United Methodist Church PO Box 315 Monson, MA 01057.
