Janice E (Baker) Michaelis

Enfield, Ct (Springfield, MA) - Janice E. (Baker) Michaelis, 69, passed away on October 26, 2016.  Janice was born in Stafford Springs, CT on April 7, 1947 to the late Frank M. and Agnita L. (Davis) Baker.  She was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School and the former Westfield State College.  She was a long time resident of Springfield before recently moving to Enfield, CT.  Janice was a Social Worker for more than 28 years, and a talented seamstress that enjoyed quilting.    She was a beloved friend of the community at the Pleasant View Senior Center in East Longmeadow, and will be dearly missed.

Janice leaves her son Jarrod A. Michaelis, her twin sister; Carla M. Michaelis and her husband Albert W. of Springfield, sister; Wendy E. Baker of Wales; niece Christy M. Dugre and her husband Alex G. of Granby, MA, nephew; Adam W. Michaelis of Springfield, MA, and great nephew Shane P. Coyle of Granby, MA.  Janice was predeceased by her parents and her brother Frank M. Baker III.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Pleasant View Senior Center at 328 North Main Street in East Longmeadow, MA beginning at 2:00PM.  All who knew and loved Janice are invited by her family to join in a celebration of her life.  A private burial will take place at Wales #4 Cemetery in the family lot.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Town of East Longmeadow in care of the East Longmeadow Senior Center, 328 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
