Joyce M (Scott) Barnes

Palmer-Joyce Maybel (Scott) Barnes age 79 died on Saturday November 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.  Joyce was born in Ware MA on October 6, 1936, the daughter of the late John J. Scott and Bessie Irene (Fuller) Scott.  She was educated in Monson, graduated from Monson High School.  She was a housewife before becoming a caregiver, working at the former Monson Developmental Center until her retirement.  She was married to the late Roger W. Barnes, Sr. and they celebrated 57 years of marriage together until his death on May 13, 2013.  Joyce is survived by her loving children and family.  3 sons, Roger W. Barnes, Jr. and his wife Katherine of Thorndike, Ronnie Barnes and his wife Donna of Monson, Randy Barnes and his wife Kristen of Belchertown, 1 daughter, Linda and her husband Marc Pellissier of Palmer, a brother, Clifford Scott and his wife Kathy of Monson, 1 sister, Jane Burnham and husband Kevin, of Monson, 8 beloved grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Scott and a sister, Betty Duncan.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2-4 pm at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St. Monson MA, with a service of remembrance to be held at 4pm followed by military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers,  memorial contributions may be made to Wing Memorial VNA and Hospice, 40 Wright St. Palmer MA 01069.
