Mary C (Gelinas) Richer

Brimfield, MA - Mary C.(Gelinas) Richer, 86, passed away at Care One in Millbury Mass on March 4, 2017. She was born in Woonsocket RI,  January 29, 1931 to the late Alfred and Mary (Fleming) Gelinas.

Mary was raised in Woonsocket, RI where she met her husband Leo.  They lived in Enfield, CT for many years while they raised their family and spent summers on the Cape. After Leo retired, Mary and Leo moved to their home on the Cape. From the Cape they moved to Plymouth, MA where they resided for over fifteen years before moving to Brimfield in 2010.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother who had a ready smile, a joyous laughter, and a warm, engaging personality. Family and friends always came first with Mary and she spent many happy summers at her home in Eastham on Cape Cod enjoying the beach and entertaining family and friends. Mary had a keen eye for decorating and a talent for making each of her homes cozy and welcoming. Mary and her husband, Leo, shared a love of Colonial homes and antiques. Mary had an affinity for animals, especially her dog, Ally.

Mary leaves her husband, Leo G. Richer; sons, George M. Richer, Kenneth M. Richer and wife Margaret, Stephen M. Richer and wife Nicole; daughters Patricia Richer, Susan Richer and Shelia Perkins and 5 grandchildren, Sophia-Ray, Ella-Ray, Kenneth M. Jr, Kevin M. and Kurt M. Richer.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 10th at St. Christopher’s Church in Brimfield, MA, burial will follow at the Brimfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington,DC 20090-6011 or on-line donations,www.alz.org , in memory of Mary C. Richer.
